Dayforce: Enabling the HighMatch Connector

This integration deployment guide will help you quickly and seamlessly connect Dayforce with HighMatch. 

Summary of the Integration Flow

  • The integration is either triggered automatically during the application process or triggered manually by a recruiter or hiring manager.
  • The candidate will either complete the assessment inline as part of the application process or from the email they receive that was manually ordered.
  • HighMatch will update the assessment status within Dayforce when the assessment is sent as well as when it is completed.
  • When the candidate has completed the assessment, HighMatch will post the report to Dayforce on the candidate’s profile.
  • If the assessment fails to send, HighMatch will post an error response to Dayforce. If you are not able to determine the cause of the error, it is recommended that you log a support ticket with Dayforce and the HighMatch Support team at support@highmatch.com.

Summary of Steps

There are 6 steps to enable the integration before you can request and receive back candidate assessment results from within Dayforce live in production. To begin you will need to create credentials by adding a new user on Dayforce on your own in Step 1 and then provide them to HighMatch in Step 2:

Step 1: Add a New Dayforce User for the Integration.

Step 2: Provide your Credentials to the HighMatch Success Team.

After you have provided your credentials to the HighMatch Success Team in Steps 1-2, you will complete Steps 3-4 in Dayforce on your own:

Step 3: Configure the HighMatch integration in Dayforce.

Step 4: Assign an Assessment and Delivery Method to a Job Requisition.

When you have completed Steps 1-4, please contact your HighMatch Success Manager at support@highmatch.com and schedule a meeting, and we will help guide you through Steps 5-6:

Step 5: Manually Send Assessments.

Step 6: Reviewing the Assessment Results and Report.

Process Details

Step 1: Add a New Dayforce User for the integration

Before HighMatch can provide you with the API credentials, you will need to create a new user for the integration to ensure that your account has the appropriate permissions. In Dayforce:

  1. Go to the System Admin > User and click New.
  2. Ensure that the role assigned to your user has the following feature enabled.
  3. Navigate back to System Admin > click Roles SL.
  4. Choose your new Integration User’s role and open the Features section.
  5. Select HMC Anywhere > WebServices > Patch Post Candidate Assessment Data.
  6. Click Save.

Note: Record this user’s username, password and domain URL as it will need to be provided to HighMatch in Step 2.

Step 2: Provide your Credentials to the HighMatch Success Team

Now that the new user has been created, reach out to your HighMatch Success Manager at support@highmatch.com and ask about enabling the HighMatch integration in Dayforce. In this email, please provide them with your new user’s username and password (created in Step 1). 

HighMatch will generate credentials and reach back out to provide you with the information (Integration Username and Password) that you will need to complete the configuration in Step 3.

Step 3: Configure the HighMatch integration in Dayforce

Once you have received the information you need from HighMatch, it is time to configure the HighMatch integration on your own. First, go to:

  1. System Admin > External Integrations.
  2. Click + Add.
  3. Under External Integration Group, select Assessment.
  4. Under Provider, select “Joynd” from the list.
  5. Set the Effective Date to the current date.
  6. Enter the Username and Password that was provided to you by HighMatch.
  1. In the Account Code field type “na”. 
  2. Enter the End-Point URL provided to you by HighMatch.
    • Note: The Dayforce End-Point URL and the Provider Reference are automatically generated.
  3. Check the box next to the Recruiter, the Hiring Manager or to Additional Users, if you want a notification to be sent when a new assessment order has been initiated or if an update on the status of a candidate has been received.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Update the list of assessments available from your assessment system by clicking Recruiting Setup > Integration Mapping.
  6. Click Update Assessment List.

A few notes:

  • IntegrationConfigurationId and PartyId are not used for this integration.
  • Partner System can be left blank, or updated to HighMatch.
  • You can only have one assessment vendor configured at a time. If there are any other assessment vendors configured, the Effective To on their configuration must be set to a date before the Effective Date for this integration used in the fifth step in Step 3 above.
  • You must add this as a new External Integration – you cannot update an existing one.

Step 4: Assign an Assessment and Delivery Method to a Job Requisition

Select an existing job requisition from your job list in the Recruiting tab (see the note below for more) or create a new job requisition. To create and assign assessments to a new job requisition start by:

  1. Go to  Recruiting > Job Requisitions.
  2. Create a new job requisition by clicking on the + New button.
  3. The first step in the job requisition creation process is called General. Here you will need to provide at least the job title, request date, location, status, and hiring manager (required fields). While on this step, click the Assessment dropdown menu and select the assessment you would like to use for this job requisition. 
  4. When you select an assessment, you will also need to select the delivery method. 
    • The available Delivery Methods are as follows:
      • Embedded in Application – Selecting this option will add an extra step in the job application which the candidate will have to complete when applying for the job. The final step of the application process will redirect the candidate to the HighMatch candidate link to complete the assessment.
      • Post-Application Email – Automatic – When the candidate completes the job application, this option will automatically send an email to the candidate using the default email template with the assessment start link.
      • Post-Application Email – Manual – This option means that the user will select a candidate on the candidate grid and choose the option Send Assessment under the Screening dropdown to send an assessment email to candidates. This will open a screen where the user will have the ability to update the email sent to the candidate.
  5. Once the assessment and delivery method are selected, continue following the on-screen prompts and click Finish once done.

Note: Once the new Job Requisition is saved with the selected Assessment and Delivery Method, it cannot be changed unless the user has the proper permissions.

If you would like users to be able to edit an existing job requisition’s Assessment and Delivery Method, ensure that the roles for those users have the appropriate authorization: 

  1. Go to System Admin > Roles SL.
  2. Choose the User’s role. 
  3. Select the Authorizations tab.
  4. On Recruiting: Additional Job Requisition Assessment, ensure “Can Update” is selected.

Now your setup is complete, it is time to book a call with your HighMatch Success Manager at support@highmatch.com. We will guide you through the remainder of the using and testing process (Steps 5-6 below).

Step 5: Manually Send Assessments

This step is optional unless the Post-Application Email – Manual delivery method was selected in Step 4. 

If you do not want to learn about manually sending assessments, please move on to Step 6. 

The Post-Application Email – Manual process can be initiated under Candidate Management or Job Requisition:

For Candidate Management:

  1. Go to Recruiting > Candidate Management.
  2. Select the candidate’s record > Screen Candidate.
  3. Send Assessment.

For Job Requisition:

  1. Go to Recruiting > Job Requisitions.
  2. Select the Job Requisition record.
  3. Check the box beside the candidate’s record > Screen.
  4. Send Assessment.

Step 6: Reviewing the Assessment Results and Report

To see the Assessment Status and Assessment Score listed for each candidate for a specific job, follow the steps below to ensure these two column fields are visible:

  1. Go to Recruiting > Job Requisitions.
  1. Click on the specific Job Requisition you want to view.
  1. Click on the specific Candidate you want to view.
  1. Click View.
  1. Click Choose Columns.
  1. Select Assessment Status, hold down the Shift key, and select Assessment Score to select both sections.
  1. Click > from the middle of the screen (to add them).
  2. Click Select once you are done.

When an assessment invitation email has been sent, the Assessment Status column for the candidate is updated to Sent in the list of candidates for that job or is displayed in the candidate’s record. 

An error status is displayed if the assessment fails to be sent to the candidate. If you are not able to determine the cause of the error, it is recommended that you log a support ticket with Dayforce and the HighMatch Support team at support@highmatch.com.

After the candidate completes the assessment, the Assessment Status column is updated to Completed and the score, if any, is displayed in the Assessment Score column in the list of candidates for that job or in the candidate’s record.

To view the assessment results including the score, and a link to the detailed HighMatch assessment report, go to the candidate’s record > Assessments tab > click the Report Link under the View Reports section. This will take you to the HighMatch assessment report in a new tab.
