The recruitment team at this large food distributor handles hiring for all 700 warehouse positions for 67 depots across 32 states. Many of the roles require a unique skill set and comprehensive training.

Currently they’re hiring 1200 employees a year with 70% turning over, most within the first 30 days on the job. The company has spent over $4 million in payroll in the last 3 years on these candidates that don’t last past the first month. 

The recruitment team needed a hiring strategy to curtail turnover rates and ensure more candidates made it through their first 30 days of training to become productive employees. 


Solution

HighMatch collaborated with the recruitment team to deploy multiple tools strategically integrated at various stages of the hiring process to highlight candidates who had the skills and behavioral traits to excel in the unique warehouse roles.

Candidates first underwent a min. qual survey, followed by a realistic job preview aligning job and candidate expectations. Subsequently, a behavioral assessment identified key traits for success on the role, leading to final interviews with hiring managers.
