Job Analysis

A Job Analysis from HighMatch helps you understand the context of a role, which in turn ensures accurate job descriptions and a more refined candidate pool.

What is a Job Analysis?

Job analysis is the process of analyzing the tasks, responsibilities, traits, and hard skills required to be successful within the role and in your organization.

By conducting a job analysis, you’re able to build a clear understanding of what makes employees successful at your company. It also delivers the information we need to create your custom assessment and tailored interviews, as well as build better training procedures for your company.

How a Job Analysis
optimizes your workplace

Performing a job analysis is a great way to gather the information that’ll help you write an effective job description.

After receiving the relevant data from your job analysis and implementing it within your hiring process, you can have absolute confidence that the hard skills and soft skills you’re evaluating in candidates are the ones that have the most direct impact on success in the job.

How the Process Works

A sound job analysis requires a thorough review of the work and a deep understanding of the Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and other relevant characteristics (KSAO’s) required to perform the work at an acceptable level.

HighMatch will engage with you in several different strategies to develop a thorough understanding of the roles to be analyzed. These may include documentation review, on-site observations, SME interviews, questionnaires and focus groups.

HighMatch will then provide you with a detailed report outlining the critical elements of the role and the key KSAO’s associated with successful performance.  This information can then be used to support recruiting, selection, onboarding, training, development, and performance evaluation.

Real-World Scenario

A healthcare staffing company needs to figure out how to best write a job description to attract nurses with the soft skills necessary to thrive in a patient’s home or other living space.

While the recruiters understand which hard skills are needed most for the position, they’re a little confused as to which soft skills they should prioritize, and they don’t know how to evaluate those soft skills.

To expedite the process, they perform a job analysis and discover that empathy and detail-orientation  were amongst the most important for nurses providing in-home patient care.

Equipped with this information, the recruiting team is now better able to attract and retain the quality candidates that align with the values of their organization. Working to ultimately improve the quality of their patient care, as well as their bottom line.
